Schloss Ditterswind stands at the heart of the village of Ditterswind, part of the municipality of Maroldsweisach in Bavaria. Construction began in 1711 under the von Stein zu Altenstein family and was only completed in 1743, before the building was substantially enlarged around 1880 in Neo-Renaissance style by the von Deuster family. Its long twenty-three-bay wing, the onion-domed round tower facing the street, and the park-facing facade with its ornamental gable and hipped-roof tower give the complex its present historicist character.
