To make a day of it

Schloss Maroldsweisach stands in Maroldsweisach (Landkreis Haßberge), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

The Schloss Maroldsweisach stands at the centre of the market town of the same name in Lower Franconia, Bavaria. This two-storey mansard-roofed building replaced an earlier moated stronghold of the lords of Wisach and later the Stein von Altenstein family, which was destroyed during the Peasants' War. The present structure, left without its intended second upper floor, appears somewhat unfinished in its proportions, yet its interior holds a surprise: the chapel and the ground-floor hall display refined rococo decoration, with shell-motif stucco, floral garlands and ornaments shaped like musical instruments. The building today houses private residences.
