To make a day of it

Château de Lacoste stands in Salviac (Lot), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 11th century, 12th century, 15th century, 16th century, 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In Salviac, in the Lot department, the château de Lacoste stands on the site of an earlier medieval tower known as the tour des Cazelles, built over the remains of the castrum's fortifications. The present buildings, arranged around a courtyard, are the result of successive alterations that turned the medieval stronghold into a more residential dwelling. Notable features include a spiral staircase set into the angle between two wings, an 18th-century entrance stairway, and interior rooms that still hold their 17th-century wood panelling and coffered ceilings.
