What the French Ministry of Culture records

Logis du 16e siècle donnant sur une cour située à la limite d'un plateau avec terrasses, appuyée d'un mur de soutènement. Des dépendances encadrent la cour. L'ancienne chapelle se trouve en bordure du plateau. Le logis se divise en deux parties distinctes de chaque côté d'une tour carrée hors-oeuvre. A l'est, la partie plus ancienne se rattache à la tour de l'escalier en vis, ornée d'une porte au décor de la fin du 16e - début 17e siècle. L'élévation sud de cette partie est attenante à un mur de clôture dont la partie supérieure devait servir de passage couvert. Une construction hors-oeuvre, servant de latrines aux premier et second étages, s'appuie contre ce mur. En 1772, le logis a été agrandi vers l'est. L'intérieur a conservé des cloisons de bois ou de plâtre peintes de scènes du 18e siècle, inspirées des manuels militaires, évoquant la fonction du propriétaire, colonel au régiment de Saintonge.
