Maison forte de Reignac stands in Tursac (Dordogne), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century). Adult admission costs 12.5 EUR. Its opening hours and prices were verified at the source on August 11, 2026.
Built directly against the cliff overlooking the Vézère river, the Reignac stronghold stands on a site inhabited since prehistoric times before becoming a fortified home during the Hundred Years' War. Visitors walk through a rare type of cliff castle, where the rock itself forms part of the roof, the ramparts and several interior rooms. Gun loops, a projecting timber gallery and machicolations, along with a fortified terrace, reveal the successive building phases from the 14th to the 16th century.
