Standing on a ridge above the Sioule valley, Bompré castle keeps the profile of a 15th-century fortified house, marked by a round tower topped with a hexagonal lantern. Later alterations, especially in the 18th century, added lighter window openings without erasing its defensive outline. Inside, a vestibule lined with stone coffering leads to a chimneypiece painted with a scene inspired by a Florentine masterpiece, the work of a Swiss artist who lived on the estate in the mid-20th century.
