What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château édifié à la fin du Moyen Age par la famille Chareil, propriétaire du fief. Quelques aménagements Renaissance vers le milieu du 16e siècle. Au 18e siècle, construction d'une partie des communs. Pendant la Révolution, le domaine est vendu comme bien national. L'Etat achète le domaine le 10 octobre 1958. Le château comporte un corps de logis flanqué de deux tours circulaires aux angles nord-ouest et sud-ouest.
