Château Citran stands in Avensan (Gironde), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: third quarter of the 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
In the commune of Avensan, in the heart of the Haut-Médoc, château Citran overlooks an extensive wine estate where history and ongoing agricultural life meet. The current building, with its projecting side pavilions and slate roof, replaced a medieval stronghold in the 19th century, and its old moats still remain. Around the main house stand outbuildings, wine cellars and a park crossed by the irrigation channels characteristic of the Médoc region.
