Château Cantemerle stands in Macau, in the Médoc region, at the centre of a 200 hectare estate, about a hundred hectares of which remain park and woodland. Classified as a Grand Cru in 1855, it passed through the Villeneuve and then Dubos families before being acquired in 1981 by the SMA BTP group. A visit takes in the 98 hectare vineyard planted on deep gravel soils, along with the estate's winemaking facilities, including a recently rebuilt vat house and barrel cellar.
