Château Giscours stands in Labarde (Gironde), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: second half of the 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
What the French Ministry of Culture records
Il s'agit d'une seigneurie connue depuis le 15ème. La vigne est mentionnée dans un acte du 16ème siècle. Différents propriétaires se succèdent jusqu'en 1825, date à laquelle l'ensemble est racheté. Le domaine est alors agrandi et le château reconstruit. De nouvelles restaurations auront lieu entre 1856 et 1868. Le domaine subira à nouveau des agrandissements entre 1875 et 1881, notamment grâce à l'aménagement du parc et la construction de deux fermes modèles, la ferme Suzanne et la ferme Camille. Le château est un bâtiment rectangulaire avec pavillon central précédé d'un balcon porche à colonnes toscanes. Les avant-corps latéraux présentent des frontons éclectiques. A proximité du château, différents bâtiments d'exploitation s'organisent autour d'une cour. A la fin du 19ème siècle, l'architecte-paysagiste réalise un parc paysager agrémenté d'un parcours d'eau et complété par la garenne.
