Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry stands in Margaux-Cantenac, at the heart of a Gironde vineyard ranked third growth in the 1855 classification. The present building dates from 1870, when architect Louis-Michel Garros replaced the earlier manor with a grander residence, completed in 1874. The estate's name recalls Jean-Baptiste de Saint-Exupéry, great-grandfather of the aviator, who owned the property in the 19th century. The grounds cover 45 hectares, 30 of which are planted with vines.
