What the French Ministry of Culture records

La seigneurie de Laleu dépendait de l'abbaye de Marmoutier et était au départ habitée par des moines. Le mur de façade est flanqué de deux tours d'angle circulaires, percées de meurtrières. Entre les tours se trouve le pignon du logis, la chapelle et le porche d'entrée. Des interventions au 18e siècle ont fait disparaître certains éléments médiévaux (fenêtres à meneaux, démolition de deux tours...). Selon la tradition, Jeanne d'Arc y aurait séjourné le 24 avril 1429, en se rendant d'Amboise à Blois.
