Château de Cheverny stands in Cheverny (Loir-et-Cher), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 17th century, 18th century). Its opening hours and prices were verified at the source on October 25, 2026.

Built between 1625 and 1629 by the architect Boyer, the château de Cheverny has belonged to the same family, the Hurault de Vibraye, for more than six centuries, and they still live there today. Seventeen rooms spread over three floors are open to visitors, with furniture and décor from the 17th century remarkably well preserved, including panels painted by Jean Mosnier depicting Don Quixote. The château also inspired Hergé's Marlinspike Hall, which is why it now houses a Tintin exhibition.
