Built on the site of a medieval stronghold first recorded in 1398, Blosset Castle owes its present appearance to Paul de Blosset, an ambassador under Louis XV, who had this feudal manor transformed around 1771 into an 18th century residence. The estate, unusual for the Sologne region, combines the castle itself with a monumental outer courtyard and an approach road crossing the Barangeon river by two bridges. Damaged by a fire in 1997, the site can now be visited partly restored, its facades and surroundings being protected.
