Schloss Lichtenstein stands in Lichtenstein (Landkreis Reutlingen), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 19th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Lichtenstein Castle sits on a rock spur at the edge of the Swabian Jura, more than 200 metres above the Echaz valley. This 19th century Gothic Revival residence was built on the foundations of a medieval stronghold, commissioned by Count Wilhelm von Urach, who was inspired by Wilhelm Hauff's novel bearing the castle's name. Visitors find a fortified outer bailey with bastions and turrets, along with a Gothic Revival interior housing the count's collection of weapons, armour and paintings.
