To make a day of it

Burg Hermülheim stands in Hürth (Rhein-Erft-Kreis), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Burg Hermülheim, in the Hermülheim district of Hürth, survives today only as a ruin: a single old gateway arch remains, now under protection. This former moated manor dates back to the Middle Ages and was linked for centuries to the Teutonic Order before suffering a turbulent history that ended in its demolition in the twentieth century. Rooted in the local history of ancient Roman water channels, the site now offers only a glimpse of the site itself and this surviving architectural fragment.
