Heimerzheim Castle is a moated castle laid out in two parts, at the southern edge of Heimerzheim. Founded by the mid-13th century at the latest by the lords of Heimerzheim, it passed in 1324 to the Teutonic Order after being sold by the knight Wennemar von Heimerzheim, then changed hands several times among noble owners before coming into the possession of Count Caspar Anton von Belderbusch in the 18th century. Through marriage it passed to the von Boeselager family, who still own it today. It ranks among the best preserved castles of the Swisttal area, with an outer bailey and a main house surrounded by broad ponds.
