Burg Satzvey stands on two moated islands at the northeastern edge of the Eifel region. This fortified manor, whose oldest surviving parts date to the early 15th century, is considered one of the best preserved moated castles in the Rhineland in terms of original building fabric. Visitors can see the early gatehouse with its twin towers, the old north wall and the original hall building. The owning family now stages historical jousting events and welcomes the public onto the site.
