Burg Hemmerich is a ruined castle standing in the Hemmerich district of Bornheim. Built on the site of a former Roman settlement, it belonged as early as 1210 to the knight Albero von Hemberg, before being remodelled in the eighteenth century in the Rhenish Rococo style under Maria Elisabeth zum Pütz. Rebuilt as a Neo-Renaissance villa after repeated fires, it burned once more in 1945 and never regained its earlier form. Vacant since 2004, the grounds are now used as a filming location for a television series.
