To make a day of it
Burg Hardeg stands in Hardegsen (Landkreis Northeim), in Lower Saxony, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 14th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Hardeg Castle stands in Hardegsen, Lower Saxony, centred on an imposing 14th century residential tower known as the Muthaus. Built in 1324 by the lords of Rosdorf, this 35 metre high structure later became a residence of the Welf dukes, including Otto the Evil, who died there in 1394. Remodelling carried out in the 18th century removed much of the old fortified complex, leaving only the Muthaus, the Hagenhaus and fragments of the surrounding wall standing. The site can be visited today, and its great hall, the Rittersaal, is also used for ceremonies.
