Burg Adelebsen stands in Adelebsen (Landkreis Göttingen), in Lower Saxony, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 13th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Burg Adelebsen stands on a sandstone spur above the Schwülme valley, a few kilometres west of Göttingen. Founded in the early 13th century by the lords of Wibbecke, who later took the name Adelebsen, it remained the seat of that family for roughly eight centuries. Its nine storey residential and defensive tower, built in two phases between the late 14th and mid 15th century, is the oldest surviving part of the complex. Eighteenth century additions gave parts of the site the character of a Schloss, without erasing its medieval core.
