To make a day of it
Schloss Wolfsburg stands in Wolfsburg (Wolfsburg), in Lower Saxony, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 14th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Wolfsburg Castle stands on the River Aller in Lower Saxony, developed from a 13th century tower house into a moated stronghold and later a Renaissance palace. The von Bartensleben family, first documented in connection with the castle in 1302, built it up before the counts von der Schulenburg inherited it in 1742. Today it forms a solid four-winged building around an inner courtyard, with a medieval bergfried embedded in the west wing and three 16th century stair towers. The east wing, finished in the early 17th century, displays the ornate carving typical of the Weser Renaissance.
