Burg Warberg stands in Warberg (Landkreis Helmstedt), in Lower Saxony, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Burg Warberg stands on the eastern edge of the Elm ridge in Lower Saxony, on the spot where the lords of Warberg built a new stronghold in the early thirteenth century after their previous castle had been destroyed. The complex is split into an upper ward, centred on a nearly square keep some nineteen metres tall, and a lower ward arranged around a courtyard lined with buildings, including a chapel first recorded in 1346. Remnants of a moat up to fifteen metres wide and an outlying rampart still survive on either side of the site. Now home to a private agricultural trade school, the castle bears the marks of centuries of alterations, capped by restoration work carried out on the upper ward and later the lower ward in the early 2000s.
