Burg Baltenstein is a ruined spur castle standing at 810 metres above sea level, southwest of the hamlet of Baltenstein in the municipality of Betzigau. Built around 1200 by the lords of Stein, who later took the name Baltenstein, it was abandoned in the mid 16th century and fell into decay. What remains today are the stone foundations of a pentagonal residential tower set atop an eight metre high boulder, along with vestiges of a rampart and ditch.
