Burg Wolkenberg is a medieval ruin sitting atop a 829 metre summit in the Kempter Wald forest, above the village of Wildpoldsried. Visitors can make out the foundations of a square keep with walls up to four metres thick, the outline of a large residential hall covering the whole northern side of the plateau, a round stair tower and an excavated bread oven. The site was uncovered and stabilised in the late 20th century, exposing the layout of a small Staufer era hilltop fortress.
