Château du Moulin stands in Lassay-sur-Croisne (Loir-et-Cher), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: fourth quarter of the 15th century, first quarter of the 16th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
In Lassay-sur-Croisne, in the Loir-et-Cher, the château du Moulin stands behind still-filled moats, its orange and black brickwork giving it the look of a medieval stronghold, though it was built at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries to display the newly earned rank of a companion of King Charles VIII. Visitors can see the gatehouse, the keep, the curtain wall and a tower raised in height under Louis XIII, along with a kitchen garden redesigned in the last century in shrinking plots that create an illusion of depth. Still a private residence, the château has also served as a filming location, from Jean Epstein's Mauprat to the television series Thierry la Fronde.
