What the French Ministry of Culture records

Construction entreprise au 16e siècle par l'architecte N. Ribonnier, terminée entre 1616 et 1621. Domaine acquis en 1714 par Claude de Morey, qui fait reconstruire la façade et les terrasses nord. Passe ensuite à la famille Mac-Mahon, qui possède encore le domaine. Le futur président de la République, duc de Magenta, y naquit en 1808. Intérieur du château très remanié au 19e siècle. Jardin paysager aménagé vers 1890. Statue du maréchal de Mac-Mahon autrefois à Alger.
