Château de Morlet stands in Morlet (Saône-et-Loire), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 13th century, 15th century, 16th century, 18th century, 19th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
Set in the hollow of the valley where the village of Morlet unfolds, in Saône-et-Loire, this château combines a main building flanked by two uneven square towers with an entrance pavilion dated 1584. The gatehouse, built for Simon de Loges, stands out for its blend of medieval defences, gun loops and machicolations, with motifs borrowed from the Italian Renaissance, such as the marble frieze of lion heads above the doorway. The façades bear traces of several periods, from 15th century mullioned windows to balconies added in the 18th century.
