To make a day of it

Château de Ratilly stands in Treigny-Perreuse-Sainte-Colombe (Yonne), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 13th century, 16th century, 17th century). Adult admission costs 6 EUR. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

In the Puisaye region, the château de Ratilly stands with its six sandstone towers atop a rise overlooking the Vrille valley. Built around 1270 on a philippian layout, the building has come through the centuries largely untouched by later rebuilding, keeping the stern look of a medieval stronghold despite Renaissance-era changes. Since 1951 it has housed a pottery workshop and a contemporary art centre, giving a visit both an architectural and artistic side.
