Standing in the Drée valley, among isolated meadows near Curgy, the keep of Savigny-le-Vieux dates from the 14th century and still has walls over a metre thick beneath a 16th century pavilion roof. Visitors can see a single furnished room, with rustic furniture, a list of the canon lords of the estate and a portrait of Jean du Rousset taken from the Armagnac breviary. The grounds still show traces of the moat and walls that vanished by the late 19th century, surrounding a tower roughly fifteen metres high.
