Château de Montby stands in Gondenans-Montby (Doubs), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century, first quarter of the 17th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
On a plateau overlooking Gondenans-Montby, in the Doubs department, stands a fortified residence dating from the 16th century, built over the remains of a medieval stronghold. Four wings arranged around an inner courtyard still surround an original cistern, while gun loops, remnants of a drawbridge and a bossed-wall barbican testify to its defensive past. A classical arcaded gallery dated 1611 stands in contrast to these older military features. Privately owned by the Mettetal family, the site is now kept alive through the work of a local heritage association.
