Château de Belvoir stands in Belvoir (Doubs), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: first quarter of the 16th century). Adult admission costs 8 EUR. Its opening hours and prices were verified at the source on September 11, 2026.
In Belvoir, in the Doubs department, this fortified castle standing on a rocky spur still looks every bit the medieval stronghold, though most of what can be seen today dates from the early 16th century. The lords of Belvoir and later the Cusance family held it for generations, until a 1968 fire and a long restoration brought the eastern wing back to life. Visitors can now see furnished rooms, old paintings, weapons and mementoes tied to the families who lived there, including a portrait of Béatrix de Cusance attributed to Van Dyck.
