To make a day of it

Château de la Léotardie stands in Nonac (Charente), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 15th century, 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

At Nonac, in the Charente department, the château de la Léotardie brings together buildings raised between the 13th and 18th centuries around a former enclosed courtyard, of which only three sides remain standing. Visitors can make out a 14th-century gatehouse tower, a 15th-century main residence reached by a spiral staircase set in an octagonal turret, and a gallery with arcades opening onto the courtyard. About a hundred metres away stands a medieval three-nave barn, a remnant of the estate's once extensive farm buildings.
