The Château de la Faye stands in Deviat, in the Charente department, on the site of a former fortress built during the Hundred Years' War. Its ramparts and wide moat once sheltered the whole population of the town. A two-arched bridge leads to a broad esplanade facing the main building. Mansard roofs with triangular-pediment dormers were added during 19th-century extensions.
