Of the Fontenailles château, built in the 16th century in the commune of Lorges, only a stone domed well resting on three columns remains today. The building itself, already recorded as being demolished on an 1855 cadastral map, has since vanished, though the site was occupied as early as 1400 by an earlier structure. A visit therefore centres on this single surviving feature, which retains the architectural interest of a protected structure.
