Château du Rondon stands in Olivet (Loiret), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 17th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

On the banks of the Loiret river, in Olivet, the Château du Rondon dates from the 17th century but owes its present appearance to a remodelling carried out in 1880. The main things to see are the north facade's terrace and its broad double-flight staircase, along with the stone balustrade overlooking the river, flanked by two wrought-iron gates bearing the letter R, which came from the Château de Richelieu. The park, traditionally attributed to Le Nôtre, slopes gently down to the water.

What to know

The château is privately owned and partly used as a bed and breakfast and gîte, which limits access to the building itself.
The protected heritage elements are exterior ones: the balustrade, the two wrought-iron gates and the retaining wall along the Loiret river.
The interior was entirely refitted in the late 19th century and keeps no earlier decoration.
Dogs are not allowed.
Renovation work is underway on site and may cause some disturbance.
