Château de La Fontaine stands in Olivet (Loiret), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Château de La Fontaine stands in Olivet, on the banks of the Loiret river, within a 20 hectare park crossed by one of its branches. The grounds bear the mark of two major design periods, a classical 17th century layout with its star shaped crossroads, and a 19th century reworking in the English landscape style, the two coexisting rather than one erasing the other. Visitors mainly come to walk beneath the oak groves, among notable species such as cedars, ginkgos and bald cypresses, with views arranged toward the nearby mills and Orléans cathedral. The château itself remains a private residence, held by the same family for close to two and a half centuries.
