Chevilly château, in the Loiret department, owes its present appearance to Nicolas Hatte, a royal finance official who had the building and its chapel rebuilt in the early 1730s. The main house stands between a courtyard of honour and a formal French garden, extended by a park with old trees and a kitchen garden fed by a gravity-based basin system. Inside, a few rooms hold collections of household and farming objects, while the 17th-century outbuildings house old horse-drawn carriages and an ice house.
