The Château de Cieurac stands in the Lot region, built upon the remains of a 13th century stronghold that was destroyed and then rebuilt during the Renaissance by the Cardaillac family. Its architecture, marked by the carved coats of arms of the Cardaillac and Peyre families, ranks it among the Renaissance residences of Quercy, alongside Montal, Cénevières or Assier. The building endured wars, sieges and a 1944 fire that destroyed its roof and listed ceilings, before being restored from 1974 onward.
