To make a day of it

Château d'Aujols stands in Aujols (Lot), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument. No visits are on record for this building.

In Aujols, in the Lot department, a stretch of crenellated wall known locally as Les Créneaux is what remains of a castle built by the Cardaillac-Bioule family in the second half of the 13th century. Already in ruins by the 18th century, the structure had two of its facades absorbed into a later dwelling. Visitors come here less for a restored monument than for the surviving fragments of a seigneurial stronghold tied to the turbulent history of Quercy.
