What the French Ministry of Culture records

Demeure seigneuriale du 15e siècle, aménagée et développée aux 17e et 18e siècles. Le château primitif du 15e siècle, formé de bâtiments groupés autour d'une cour centrale et flanqué de tours, a été ouvert au 17e siècle sur l'esplanade qui le précède. L'aile supprimée pour donner le jour à cette vieille construction et la rendre habitable à une époque où les préoccupations militaires étaient devenues secondaires, a été remplacée par un portique à jour précédé d'un large perron à double rampe. En avant du château, des communs à un étage mansardé précédés d'une terrasse, se développent de part et d'autre d'une esplanade fermée, à l'opposé du château, par un mur percé d'une grille. Dans les jardins et en dehors du château se trouvent des vestiges du 18e siècle.
