Château de la Bâtisse stands in Chanonat (Puy-de-Dôme), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century, 15th century, 18th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
In Chanonat, in the Puy-de-Dôme, the Château de la Bâtisse still shows the outline of a 13th-century watchtower, later enlarged into a proper fortified castle before being turned into a pleasure residence. Visitors come mainly for its terraced gardens, laid out in the manner of Le Nôtre, among the largest French-style gardens in the region. Water drawn from the Auzon river feeds the pools, cascades and fountains throughout the grounds by gravity.
