To make a day of it

Château de Saint-Genès-l'Enfant stands in Malauzat (Puy-de-Dôme), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: milieu 17th century, 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In Malauzat, in the Puy-de-Dôme department, the château de Saint-Genès-l'Enfant presents a main building dating from the mid 17th century, flanked by two square pavilions built of Volvic stone. Inside, a Louis XVI bedroom retains wallpaper panels from the Arthur et Grenard manufactory, made around 1785-1790. The grounds combine terraced French-style gardens with an English-style park, crossed by an old network of fountains, basins and canals turned into a fish farm around 1870.
