Château de Châteaugay stands in Châteaugay (Puy-de-Dôme), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. Standing on a plateau overlooking the village and the Clermont hillsides, Châteaugay castle retains a square 14th century keep and round towers added around 1430. Built from 1381 by Pierre II de Giac, it has kept part of its inner wall and an old machicolation above its fortified gates. Visitors can also see a former castle chapel, now a parish church, whose northern nave dates from the same period as the keep.
