In Lully, in Haute Savoie, the Buffavent château stands with its four round towers capped with pepper pot roofs, at the edge of a wood near the Chavanex hillside. Built in the 15th century as a hunting lodge for the Langin lords, the four sided building passed through several families, from the Gerbais de Sonnaz to twentieth century owners. Its gateway still bears the carved Langin coat of arms, the only heraldic trace visible from outside.
