Schloss Blankenhain stands in Crimmitschau, in the Landkreis Zwickau, in Saxony, on the site of a former moated castle first recorded in 1423. Half destroyed by fire in 1661, it was rebuilt around 1699 and gained its mansard roof and Baroque tower domes in 1765, features still visible today. The estate now houses a large German agricultural museum spread across eleven hectares around the main building and its outbuildings. Visitors can see the castle's rooms as well as barns, a windmill, a village school and a mausoleum scattered through the park and the neighbouring village.
