Château du Plessis-Villelouet stands in Chailles (Loir-et-Cher), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century, 17th century, 18th century, 19th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

What the French Ministry of Culture records

La seigneurie est mentionnée à partir du 14e siècle. Le château présentait deux tours cantonnant un corps central, le tout entouré de fossés. Par la suite, deux ailes symétriques fermèrent la cour formant un U. Au 18e siècle, l'architecte Jean-Baptiste Collet reprend les façades du corps central, perce le comble de lucarnes et aménage les intérieurs. L'architecte dissimule les tourelles médiévales et perce de larges baies la façade sur parc. En 1840, des travaux de restauration sont conduits par l'architecte Courtiller. La chapelle, de style néo-flamboyant, a été intérieurement décorée par Maurice de Vaines. Une ferme modèle est bâtie, le parc redessiné et l'allée d'accès créée. La laiterie de propreté associée à une grotte rustique, sous l'étable principale de la ferme modèle, ne semble pas de la même époque.
