What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le fief des Diorières relevait de celui de Chauvigny. Le château actuel a été construit en 1737, remplaçant un château primitif détruit lors d'un incendie. De l'ancien château subsiste les douves disposées autour d'un espace rectangulaire marqué aux angles nord-ouest, et sud-ouest d'une tour ronde. Le château se compose d'un corps de logis rectangulaire dont la partie centrale est surmontée d'un fronton triangulaire. L'intérieur a été entièrement refait à la fin du 19e siècle.
