Le fief dépendait de l'abbaye de la Trinité de Vendôme. Au nord-ouest du château se trouve une grosse tour circulaire du 15e siècle. A l'ouest et à l'extérieur, deux lignes d'étroites ouvertures de cette tour ont été ouvertes et ornementées à la Renaissance. Contigu à cette tour et faisant équerre, se trouve un mince bâtiment qui servait d'amorce au mur d'enceinte encadrant le plan carré. Le château du 17e siècle est un quadrilatère dont la façade extérieure au sud revient aux deux extrémités en deux pavillons.
