What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château se compose de deux ailes, mêlant forteresse médiévale et ouverture sur la Renaissance. Construit au début du règne de Louis XI. En 1496, y est célébré le mariage d'Anne de Bretagne avec Louis XII. Sous l'aile sud du château, se trouvent des caves creusées dans le calcaire, dont quelques-unes à deux étages s'étendent jusque sous la cour du château, passant sous les fondations. Elles sont sans doute postérieures à la construction de l'édifice.
